How to Use the Color Extractor

How many colors does the tool extract?

The tool identifies a range of prominent colors from your image. It then displays the top 8 Dominant Colors and the next 8 Accent Colors found, giving you a total palette of 16 colors to work with.

How accurate is the color extraction?

The extraction uses the well-regarded Color Thief library, which analyzes the pixels in your image to find the most frequent colors. Accuracy is generally high, but can be influenced by image complexity, compression artifacts, and the diversity of colors present.

Are my uploaded images stored on the server?

No. We prioritize your privacy. Images are processed directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your uploaded image files are never sent to or stored on our servers.

What is the difference between HEX and RGB color codes?

Both are ways to represent colors digitally. HEX (e.g., #FF5733) is commonly used in web design (CSS, HTML). RGB (e.g., rgb(255, 87, 51)) represents color using Red, Green, and Blue light values (0-255) and is common in digital graphics and programming.

What is the separate Color Picker for?

The Select a Color tool is an independent feature. It allows you to use a standard color picker interface to choose any color you like and instantly see its corresponding HEX and RGB values, separate from the image extraction process.
